My headache must be getting worse... Feeling giddy already...

Haha... Actually got quite a lot of stuff to say... but then no mood already... Wanted to talk about the tremor felt in SAJC... And also at my grandpa's cremation, the director of All Saints Home (where my grandpa was staying before he passed away) was also from SAJC... And because I was wearing my uniform, I stood out from the rest... Hai... Then all the pple there were Christians... And previously the pastor asked me whether I go to church... And when I said no, he replied that I'd better start going... Sian... Anyway this time he just asked whether I go for the chapel... And I of course I said yes... Haha... And he seemed real happy about it... Oh well, wadever makes you happy... Haha... It doesn't matter wad we believe in or wad we put our faith in, as long as we are happy with our lives... And of course we dun harm other pple...

[Ok, the mood is back... And unfortunately, this is going to be a long post.]

Anyway just came across this fact, that the Bible implies that God created Man (along with the universe and wadever not) about 6000 years ago... I think this is from the Times magazine... Does this imply that Christians (and I think the Muslims, too, since the Old Testament in the Bible is similar to the Qur'an... I may be wrong, however...) dun believe in dinosaurs? And they dun believe that the universe was created billions of years ago? Well, I asked my Christian friend about this... Haha... And he said he's gonna ask his pastor... So I'll be waiting for his answer... Haha...

So while the answer is in the waiting (when i get the answer, i'll be sure to post it up! haha...), let's ponder: Wad might the answer be?

"Of course dinosaurs exist!"
But doesn't this mean that you are going against the word of the Bible? So does it mean you are saying the Bible is telling lies? Whoa... I can hear cries of blasphemy and heresy in the background...

"Nah, dinosaurs are rubbish. The Bible is sacred and it tells only of the truth."
Well, there wun be any blasphemy or heresy here, then... That's good, from a religious point of view... But but but but but, isn't there irrefutable evidence that dinosaurs truly existed? Then where else did all the fossils come from? Moreover, scientists are able to use carbon dating to determine the age of carbonaceous materials, such as wood, bones and ancient artifacts .etc, up to about 60,000 years [source: www.wikipedia.org]. If you wanna go one better, there's still uranium-uranium dating, which can date samples (sediments from either a marine or a playa lake environment) to about 1.2 million years ago! [source: www.britannica.com] Since both of which have uncovered samples of such age, how can the Earth possible be 6000 years old?

Before you are convinced by an almost one-sided argument, you should take one step back and look at the whole picture... My purpose is not to convince anyone to believe anything... I dun like to do that; I feel that everybody should believe in wadever they want to, as long as it makes them happy (which totally goes against the idea of evangelists, but that's another story)... I'd just like pple to see both sides of something, then make a stand... and not be a blind adherent and do something blindly just becos others tell you to do so...

General idea: If you wanna do something, make sure you know wad you are doing.

Anyway, the question "Do you believe in dinosaurs?" to a Christian (or Muslim?) is truly a tricky one. The answer "yes" would result in blasphemy, while the answer "no" cannot be given due to the overwhelming evidence of samples more than 6000 years old. Thus, the key to answering this question is to go back to the source.

And question the assumption.

The politically correct answer: "The Bible does not imply that Earth was created 6000 years ago. There is no explicit verse that says the Earth is 6000 years old. And thus, yes, I believe in dinosaurs and that the universe was created billions of years ago."

Smart, right? I can anticipate that this would be the answer I would be getting...
