Pain is inevitable, misery is optional.

I find this particular quote very meaningful... Haha... Wad more can I say? Haha... Actually this quote reminds me of how intricate the English language can be... Haha... Truth be told, there's not much difference between "pain" and "misery"... Both pretty much means suffering... But in this instance, they are 2 distinctly opposite sides, where 1 is necessary and the other is by choice. But if you think about it, isn't everything by choice?

Anyway, the other day when I was getting a new handphone, there was an elderly woman queuing up at the handphone shop... And I think for quite long, too... cos I was waiting for my uncle for like 1-2 hours... and who never showed up... Anyhow, the woman was queuing up the whole time... And suddenly, while I was at the counter paying up for the handphone, she started screaming while walking away from the shop... I dun really know wad happened (maybe she wanted to get something but got rejected... can't really think of any possible scenarios...) And she was screaming about waiting for 2 hours for nothing... a waste of her time... and hope that the shop closes... Haha... Then as she went on the escalator down, she continued screaming and shouting... I could even hear her 1 level below... Haha... And she would occasionally shout out loud... Like just, "AHHHHHH!!!" Haha... Now, do you think she needs anger management therapy? And before you answer that question, you should really read the February 21 2007 post if you haven't done so... Haha... Like I said in a previous post, stuff I say seldom get obsolete... But more importantly, stuff I talk about always seem to occur soon after I talk about it... Like in this case, after I ponder about the basis of anger management therapy, an incident like this comes up... But it should be a coicidence, right? Haha...

Anyway, I also wanted to talk about how I took like 1 hour plus to travel from sch to Tampines to get the free m1 simcard that came with the handphone... But I forgot to bring my IC which was needed to claim it... So I pretty much wasted 1 hour plus of my time... Haha... Anyway that's pretty much the summarised version... Just wanna say that I went there the next day on my way to drum class... I spent like 35 minutes (thank goodness there was little traffic!) to go to Tampines from my house... And it took like 1 hour 20 minutes to get from Tampines to PS... Wow... Now isn't that fun?

Well, the good news is that she didn't say no... But the bad news is that she didn't say yes either... Hmm... Sometimes that kind of answer is not a good thing... Like how "yes" means yes, "no" means a straight and direct no, while "i dunno" means a polite and indirect no... Oh well... Wad's there to say?

Ever so willing to forget all about it...

I know we are friends, but sometimes it feels like something more... Can you give me a sign of how you feel?

Hmm... You know, I swear (ok not a very good word... but i dunno how to rephrase it...) that I wake up every morning (or afternoon) with a blank slate... It's like every time I wake up, I can't quite remember wad happen the previous day, or the day before that... Every time I wake up, it somewad feels like a new life... like it's the beginning of my life... Haha... Like a beginning of a new day... Haha... A brand new day is in the waiting every time I wake up... So you can say I live my life day by day... Haha... I dun think I know wad that means also... Like wad Sim Wong Hoo said before: We are a brand new person every 1 year and 8 days (it's under the September 26 2005 post... haha... stuff i say seldom get obsolete...) I think for me, I'm a brand new person every day... Haha... So I can forget the sad past and just look forward to the good things in life and be happy everyday! Haha...

Anyway block tests are coming... And I seriously dun feel like studying... I also dun think I will... for the time being, that is... Life is pretty bleak at the moment... and it's quite sian, too... There wun any so-called holidays anymore... Even this March holidays is not meant to be a holiday... It's meant to be a study period for the upcoming block tests... And during the June holidays, it will be a study period for the Mid-Year papers... September holidays will be for Prelims... or something like that... All in all, there wun be any holidays for us J2s for this whole year...

Life is full of awkward silences.

My headache must be getting worse... Feeling giddy already...

Haha... Actually got quite a lot of stuff to say... but then no mood already... Wanted to talk about the tremor felt in SAJC... And also at my grandpa's cremation, the director of All Saints Home (where my grandpa was staying before he passed away) was also from SAJC... And because I was wearing my uniform, I stood out from the rest... Hai... Then all the pple there were Christians... And previously the pastor asked me whether I go to church... And when I said no, he replied that I'd better start going... Sian... Anyway this time he just asked whether I go for the chapel... And I of course I said yes... Haha... And he seemed real happy about it... Oh well, wadever makes you happy... Haha... It doesn't matter wad we believe in or wad we put our faith in, as long as we are happy with our lives... And of course we dun harm other pple...

[Ok, the mood is back... And unfortunately, this is going to be a long post.]

Anyway just came across this fact, that the Bible implies that God created Man (along with the universe and wadever not) about 6000 years ago... I think this is from the Times magazine... Does this imply that Christians (and I think the Muslims, too, since the Old Testament in the Bible is similar to the Qur'an... I may be wrong, however...) dun believe in dinosaurs? And they dun believe that the universe was created billions of years ago? Well, I asked my Christian friend about this... Haha... And he said he's gonna ask his pastor... So I'll be waiting for his answer... Haha...

So while the answer is in the waiting (when i get the answer, i'll be sure to post it up! haha...), let's ponder: Wad might the answer be?

"Of course dinosaurs exist!"
But doesn't this mean that you are going against the word of the Bible? So does it mean you are saying the Bible is telling lies? Whoa... I can hear cries of blasphemy and heresy in the background...

"Nah, dinosaurs are rubbish. The Bible is sacred and it tells only of the truth."
Well, there wun be any blasphemy or heresy here, then... That's good, from a religious point of view... But but but but but, isn't there irrefutable evidence that dinosaurs truly existed? Then where else did all the fossils come from? Moreover, scientists are able to use carbon dating to determine the age of carbonaceous materials, such as wood, bones and ancient artifacts .etc, up to about 60,000 years [source: www.wikipedia.org]. If you wanna go one better, there's still uranium-uranium dating, which can date samples (sediments from either a marine or a playa lake environment) to about 1.2 million years ago! [source: www.britannica.com] Since both of which have uncovered samples of such age, how can the Earth possible be 6000 years old?

Before you are convinced by an almost one-sided argument, you should take one step back and look at the whole picture... My purpose is not to convince anyone to believe anything... I dun like to do that; I feel that everybody should believe in wadever they want to, as long as it makes them happy (which totally goes against the idea of evangelists, but that's another story)... I'd just like pple to see both sides of something, then make a stand... and not be a blind adherent and do something blindly just becos others tell you to do so...

General idea: If you wanna do something, make sure you know wad you are doing.

Anyway, the question "Do you believe in dinosaurs?" to a Christian (or Muslim?) is truly a tricky one. The answer "yes" would result in blasphemy, while the answer "no" cannot be given due to the overwhelming evidence of samples more than 6000 years old. Thus, the key to answering this question is to go back to the source.

And question the assumption.

The politically correct answer: "The Bible does not imply that Earth was created 6000 years ago. There is no explicit verse that says the Earth is 6000 years old. And thus, yes, I believe in dinosaurs and that the universe was created billions of years ago."

Smart, right? I can anticipate that this would be the answer I would be getting...

You're face to face, with the man who sold the world

Ok... Today was quite crappy... Had 2 SPAs... and also received the Chinese 'A' Level results... Sigh... Shall make this short...

The 2 SPAs were ok I guess... It was chem first... I forgot wad a certain apparatus was called... and until now I still dunno... Haha... Guess it's a few marks gone already... And I had to fill up the burette like so many extra times cos the thing was screwed up... Anyway after that was physics... Quite ok also... Didn't even do the experiment... Haha... Also dun really need... Just needed to plot graph and write the errors... And I forgot some stuff! Haha... Sorry, I'm not good at memorising stuff... Anyway dun care la... I'm just happy it's over... Then came the 'a' level chinese results... They said the sch average was D... I knew I most probably will be screwed already... And guess wad? I got E... Bloody hell... The letter looks so awful... I was hoping maybe I get a D or if lucky a C... But then give me this kind of lousy E... Walao... Sian ah!! Kaoz...

Anyway she looked quite good with her new uniform on... Haha... It was only until now that I got this close (if only it was figuratively) to her... Haha... I really liked how we both were wearing the same uniform in a place outside of sch. =)
