Every time you are near? Just like me, they long to be Close to you. I think that this song is really sweet... It has sort of been etched into my head ever since Karen Mok sang this song during the Golden Horse Awards thingy... If only I had the song... Hmm... My mother has been pushing me to go to my sister's church camp... And that starts today... So obviously I didn't go... Haha... And yesterday, my mother spotted an opportunity to make me go to the church camp... Basically, I needed a new handphone and she said if I went for the church camp, she would get me one... Tsk tsk... I dunno whether she said that just in passing or wad... But in my mind I was thinking: "No deal, man". Haha... Anyway she didn't say anything else so I dunno whether she really meant it or not... Obviously by that incident I am not a Christian. Neither am I Buddhist. In fact I dun have a religion. And I want to stay that way, thank you very much. I really feel quite strongly about this... Actually, I just see religion as something that gives their followers strength and a sense of security of wad happens to them when they die... Wad else? Ok... Maybe a source of motivation... But mainly it's to provide them with a pillar of strength. But the thing is, if you are strong enough yourself, why do you still need a religion? If you are self-motivated and have self-belief, why do you still need a religion? Then comes the question: theism, atheism or agnosticism? I believe that most of the pple out there dun have a clue about wad that is... So let me just briefly describe wad that is all about... Simply put, theism is the belief that there is a God, that there is a superior being that created life on Earth, created the Earth even, oh wad the heck, created everything. Atheism, if you can guess it by now, is just the opposite. It's the belief that there is no superior being. Well, this is the case that scientists are pushing, I guess... Since they are the one who created the "Big Bang" hypothesis about how the universe was formed... Theism is the belief that there is a god, atheism is the belief that there isn't a god. So, wad is agnosticism? Well, agnosticism comes from the word "agnostic". And the word gnosis means "knowledge" in Greek. So basically it can be translated as "without knowledge"... And that is wad it is... Agnostics feel that the existence of God (and afterlife also) is unknown and inherently unknowable. If that sounds complicated, try to think it this way: To agnostics, the answer to the question "Does God exist?" is equivalent to the answer to the question "Wad colour is Saturday?". The answer is unknowable and also irrelevant to life. Anyway, there is always more information about this kind of thing on the Internet... If you really want to know more, Wikipedia is always a good start... =) The main thing here is: Believe wad you want to believe. But you dun have to convince everybody that wad you believe is absolutely right. No offense, but I always wonder why Christians are always asking pple to go to their churches or the outings or their camps... You dun hear the Buddhists asking you to go to their temples, do you? Wad about the Muslims? Do you hear them trying to persuade you to convert to their religion? Why is it that only the Christians are doing all this? Theism, atheism or agnosticism. Which are YOU?
